The second book was a challenge, but we were up for it! The publisher wanted us to push the boundaries and create something truly groundbreaking, and I think we delivered.

We drew inspiration from vintage women's weekly magazines and milk bar nostalgia to create a unique aesthetic that perfectly captured the spirit of the book. Bonnie Savage's stunning photography, paired with Deb Kaloper's styling, really brought the pages to life.

Callum Preston’s hand painted signs are unmissable and crucial to the small deli’s aesthetic, so I tried to replicate that style on the chapter openers.

Fun Fact: See that kid eating a donut? that’s Sunny! my son, he has affectionally referred to Mo and Shannon as ‘donut ladies’ since then, a title I hope they relish in.
