Back when I was a university student pursuing my Bachelor of Design, I was lost and had no idea what I wanted to do. Animation was my secret passion, but it seemed out of reach, and website design was a brand new concept to me, the thought alone of actively learning HTML was torture, to this day still is…

One day, in the library, I saw a magazine. It had beautiful photography, thoughtful interviews, and a tactile paper stock. When I saw it, it was like a beacon calling out to me. I knew, in that moment, that I had to get involved in publication design. Fast-forward to now, and I'm designing the final edition of Dumbo Feather, the same magazine that was in the library all those years ago. It's a bittersweet moment, but one that I'll never forget. Here's to the power of a great magazine, and the influence it can have on a young designer's life.
